- Prized in Ladakh for generations
- Tart like passionfruit, with a hint of citrus
- Tangy, bright and bracing
- Small-lot packed, nothing added
High in the cold deserts of Ladakh and the Himalayan valleys grows a stubborn shrub with berries the colour of sunrise — sea buckthorn, which locals have prized for generations as their winter store of nourishment. These tangy golden berries have earned the nickname "the gold of the mountains".
The taste is bright and bracing — tart like passionfruit with a whisper of citrus — beautiful in warm water with honey, blended into smoothies, or taken as a small daily ritual through the colder months.
We bring sea buckthorn down from the mountains and pack it in small lots, the Always Limited way — nothing added, nothing diluted.
100% sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides). No additives, no preservatives. See pack for form (whole berry/pulp) and full panel.
Stir into a glass of warm (not boiling) water with honey, blend into smoothies and juices, or take as directed on the pack. A little is enough — the flavour is delightfully intense.
