Amla, the Indian gooseberry, has been part of Indian households for generations. It is a natural source of Vitamin C. In our jar it is nothing but amla.
We pick tender amla berries at peak ripeness, dry them gently in the shade rather than in the sun, then grind them to a fine powder. Nothing else goes in: no added preservatives, no artificial colours, no chemicals, no fillers. Just amla, in its truest form.
It is used two ways, and ours is made for both. Take it internally, or mix it with water into a paste for hair and scalp.
Every 100 g jar is made by hand in small batches in Chinhat, Lucknow, in our Always Limited way, and is marked with its batch number and best-before date (12 months). Keep one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom cabinet, one in the travel kit - amla has a way of being wanted in all three.

Taken internally: Mix ½ to 1 teaspoon of amla powder in a warm glass of water. You can also stir it into smoothies, fresh juice, warm milk, or mix with honey for taste. Take once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or with breakfast. For Hair & Scalp (External): Mix 2–3 teaspoons of amla powder with water to form a smooth paste. Apply generously to your scalp and hair, working the paste from roots to tips. Leave for 30–45 minutes (or longer if you have time). Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use once a week for best results. Tip: Mix amla powder with henna for deeper conditioning and colour. For best results with both uses, keep amla powder in your daily routine. Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed. Best before 12 months from packaging (see jar for batch and date).
