Long before bottled shampoo reached Indian shops, hair was washed with three gifts of the forest - Amla, Reetha (soap nut) and Shikakai. Kesh Rakshak begins with that trio and adds six more herbs: Bhringraj, Neem, Flaxseed (Alsi), Fenugreek (Methi), Hibiscus (Gudhal Phool) and Black Cumin Seed (Kalonji). Nine herbs, and every one of them is named on the label.
All nine have long been part of Ayurvedic tradition. That is history, and we let it stand as history. What we can tell you is how the shampoo behaves in your hands: it lathers gently, rinses clean, and carries the faint smell of herbs rather than heavy perfume.
Every bottle is handmade in a small batch here in Chinhat, Lucknow, and marked with its own batch number - our "Always Limited" way of keeping every wash as fresh as the first.

Amla (Indian gooseberry), Reetha (soap nut), Shikakai, Bhringraj, Neem, Flaxseed (Alsi), Fenugreek (Methi), Hibiscus (Gudhal Phool) and Black Cumin Seed (Kalonji), in a gentle herbal wash base.
Wet hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Take a small amount of shampoo, work it into the scalp with your fingertips and massage gently for a minute or two. Rinse well. Herbal shampoos lather softly — that is normal, and a sign nothing harsh is at work. Use as often as you wash; follow with Kesh Rakshak Hair Oil between washes.
